Summary of Key Requirements:
To be admitted to the bar, you must be:
- at least 18 yrs old
- a US citizen*
- of sound mind, good moral character and fitness to practice law
- a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association**
To be admitted to the bar, you must do the following:
- submit a dean or chancellor certificate of gradutaion and fitness
- pass the written examination.
- request the preparation of an NCBE character report
- submit an admission application to the Committee on Bar Admissions
- pay any applicable fees
